Make plans to attend the firemans carnival at the municipal field on July 8th thru 11th. Plenty of rides and great food. Parade through downtown to the carnival grounds will take place on Friday July 10th. Lineup at 6:00 and the parade starts at 7:00.

New Truck Update:

Final preparations are being made for the new Engine 103 to go on the assembly line. We are hoping for delivery in late August. This truck will be similiar to the Stafford truck below. Between now and delivery our department will be trying to get the funds together for the equipment on the truck. A rough figure of $100,000 is what will be needed. I believe with the dedicated members we have and the great people in our community we can accomplish this goal.

Facts on the new Engine 103.

This truck will have a 525HP Caterpillar Engine.

The pump will be 1500gpm and the tank will be 1000 gallons. It will have a 30 gallon B foam tank and a 20 gallon A foam tank.

This will be the first engine in Rockbridge County with CAFS. It will have a 6000 watt light tower, a front bumper turret which will be controlled from the cab or remote.It will also have 3 Holmatro Core reels an electric reel and air line reel for air tools. A sta-dry hopper, 6 pre-connects and 5 -900 watt scene lights. Over 10,000 watts of lighting!
